I saw a flower card using washi tape in a recent scrapbooking magazine. I was very intrigued as washi tape is on my brain lately!
I held off as long as possible, but once I gave in & started purchasing I got carried away.
So now my goal is to use it as often as possible so I can justify my stash! LOL
I also started something new!
There's lots of great kit companies out there, but none that have really pulled me in.
I've been leery of the commitment, but was very tempted when I came across Sami at Scrapmaster's Paradise!
I love the paper's she puts in her kits & she designs the cutest stamps.
What finally convinced me to try is that she offers a preview period, you can switch out your product or opt out for the month. I love that option! Plus her prices are great & you get a discount in her store & free shipping if you include it with your kit!
How great is that?
This is my first project with my February kit and my first SP&Co stamp!
This is a simple 4x6 card that I layered with solid cardstock & patterned paper from Echo Park, Sweet Girl.
I created my washi tape flower using a wide roll of MME washi tape. I cut 4" strips of washi tape. While holding each end I used a fabric softener sheet to unstick the tape, leaving the ends that I'm holding sticky. I read somewhere to use baby powder, but the powder was in the room where my kids were napping so I wasn't about to get it. I had a dryer sheet handy & it worked! Then fold over each end to meet in the middle & you have 2 loops. I created 2 of these. As they were too wide I cut them each in half lengthwise to create 4. I only ended up using 3. If you make your flower larger you may use all 4 or even use more.
I finished off my flower with an October Afternoon button (a recent splurge from Peachy Cheap!) and twine.
This sweet sentiment is 1 of 7 on the Sunshine Emma stamp set from CP&Co!
I heat embossed it to make it shine!
Thanks for stopping & hope your day is Happy!
